Half Birthday Time!

I can't believe my baby is 6 months old today! We took Alexander to the pediatrician this morning. He weighs 15 lbs 4 oz and is 27 inches long. His head is on the small side (always has been) and the ped explained that is probably why his weight is a lower percentile--baby's heads make up a lot of their weight! Anyway, he is absolutely perfect (IMO). ;)

Alex has changed so much in the past week. He has figured out how to get himself into a sitting position. He has been scooting all over the place and going after things he wants (dog tails, dog toys, my toes). He has also been getting up on all fours for a few seconds. I think I'm going to have a crawling baby soon...we have put the plug protectors in the outlets and I think James needs to get rid of the glass tv stand. I foresee a lot of boo boos (which terrifies me but it's also so exciting to see Alex growing and learning). He continues to pull my hair, laugh when tickled, and will only nap in his swing. He still sleeps with mama (judge away). I never knew having a baby would change me so much but I love this little guy and it makes me want more babies...

Tigers Say Roar!

It's hard to believe we are practically midway through July and I have a 5 1/2 month old! We are having so much fun with him, but I feel like Alex is already getting so big. This busy little guy has been scooting everywhere and is super wiggly. I took him to my friend Marianne's house today and he would scoot all around the floor and then would start to fuss but when I would pick him up, he would just wiggle wiggle wiggle.

Also, it is James and my 5 year wedding anniversary tomorrow! We have been so busy with baby but we are going out to dinner. :) Enjoy some more pictures of Alex.

Denver Aquarium and Other Days

Last Sunday we took Alex to the Denver Aquarium. I speculated that this would be fun for him because he is so into looking at the dog (and most things in general). He also likes to grab at most everything, but lucky for us, almost everything at the aquarium is behind glass! We did have a nice time. Alex enjoyed looking at all of the fish. I think he was a little overwhelmed/mesmerized, but he didn't work up a fuss at all. I'd say the trip was a success.

I bought a Beaba baby food maker (it steam cooks and purees foods). I pureed some Granny Smith apples for Alex last week. Unfortunately, he made a face and gagged but he did enjoy chewing on the spoon.

I also pureed some carrots for Alex to try. He took one little bite today, gagged, and threw up some milk. So far he's had a banana, apple, and carrots and the banana was the only food that didn't make him gag. We are 1 for 3 I guess, but we'll keep trying.

Alex absolutely loves Yoshi. He thinks this dog is the funniest thing in the World. The other day Yoshi was growling at something outside and Alex just kept giggling at him. I don't think Yoshi is nearly as fond of Alex as Alex is of him, but he tolerates Alex. I think Yoshi might be a little depressed (he doesn't eat nearly as much and we can't give him as much attention as we used to) but I try to show Yoshi that I still love him and I think he and Alex will be the best of friends very soon.

Other than that, I am working on the 4th because I work every. single. holiday. it seems. Oh well. Happy Monday!
